High-end Facility, Shanghai

For the construction of their new, high-end elderly care facility, Orpea tasked NETK5 with the full design of the copper, fiber and Wi-Fi network, as well as the Data Center. We paid special attention to low-profile, aesthetically pleasing Access Points for guests rooms.

The new Data Center will serve as the central point for all Orpea facilities in China. This means that we built-in high availability, redundancy and security from the start.

16 floors, kilometers of copper and fiber cables, 350+ access points for perfect coverage with minimal interference. We optimized the layout for the most efficient paths, using as little resources as we could without sacrificing robustness and performance.

APOS Wi-Fi Survey

For precise Wi-Fi design, APOS is the ideal tool. After a Predictive Survey, we install a battery-powered Access Point at each planned location to measure the actual signal. This allows us to accurately assess the signal strength before installation.

How do you design Wi-Fi for a 16 stories, 350m long metal ship full of pipes, engines, chemical processors and tanks? Well, we do it module by module, after careful measurement of all potential blockages. Not for the faint of heart!
